L.A. County Dist. Atty. Jackie Lacey announces dismissal of 66,000 marijuana convictions

DA’s and Judges certainly have the discretion & authority to do that. For Oklahoma County residents, I wouldn’t recommend holding your breath for DA David Prater to take a similar stance. It cannot be overstated how significant it is to those people who no longer have felonies - from restoration of their Second Amendment rights to restoration of their voting rights to the myriad of employment opportunities that open up for them. Unfortunately, the spectre of federal marijuana illegality still looms over us all, especially any of use who have to visit federal property. Something, perhaps, we should encourage the 7 people of our Federal Congressional Delegation to consider...
