Please be advised......Cinco de Mayo IS NOT an American/USA derived holiday. Take the time and effort to learn about the battel in Puebla, Mexico. Don't put on Mexican regalia to go party if you're not Mexican. Don't be that person....Stop Appropriating Culture!!! Laxtinx/Hispanic culture is not Monolithic or monolingual!! Don't use capitalism or racially divisive ideology as an excuse to drink margaritas and eat "colonized" Mexican dishes. If you want to support the culture spend your money at Mexican owned establishments. Also please don't support businesses who fund oppressive systems that lock up laxtinx/Hispanic children in cages, separate families and lable them as illegals under the guise of celebration or support. Just be aware, respectful and intentional in your actions.
