So…you’re going to either have Oklahoma leave the USA (at least that would negate the McGirt nonsense) and establish the independent, sovereign nation-state of Okiestan or somehow repeal the first sentence of 14th Amendment (which should have actually been done a long time ago)?
Please repeal the Snyder Act and the ICWA while you’re at it.
The _intent_ of the law doesn’t matter. The law might not always say what it means, but it always means what it says.
As such, BIRTH TOURISM = perfectly legal presently, while “anchor babies” are not given that the parent(s) is not “under the jurisdiction thereof” by virtue of not being legally present in the USA in the first place.
Simply enforcing the 14th Amendment - AS WRITTEN - will solve this issue; as a stopgap measure to repealing its first sentence and getting rid of jus soli citizenship.
Also, Oklahoma has _residents_ and not citizens.
Today I filed SB1226 to end birthright citizenship in Oklahoma. It’s past time we put America First by prohibiting anchor babies in our state. Here’s a quote on my bill:
“Those on the left may screech at the term ‘illegal aliens,’ as they say no person should be considered ‘illegal.’ In that case we could instead refer to them as lawbreaking foreigners because that’s what they are,” Dahm said. “We can no longer afford allowing spineless Republicans to reward these lawbreaking foreigners whether on behalf of big business or in an effort to compromise with the left by selling out our country. We must secure our border and eliminate birthright citizenship. If our current ‘leaders’ refuse to step up, we in Oklahoma can use our power to take a stand. I will always fight and lead the charge whether others do or not.”
