Such ridiculous, discriminatory, subjective garbage. The very concept of [insert emotion] crimes is offensive and abhorrent to Justice.
Let’s apply the concept of “Hate” offenses to sports.
How about we have “Hate Fouls” in basketball? They’ll be like regular fouls, but they’ll take the violators’ demographics and past statements into account and the player who was fouled gets an extra free throw than usual and the person committing the foul gets and additional step closer to being ejected from the game.
Better yet…if the game is played on a basketball court in certain states, there will be irregularly shaped areas on the court that will be painted a certain color.
If a player of a certain ethnicity commits what would otherwise be a foul while in one of these areas the referees will be prohibited from calling it. They would be limited to calling fouls on such players only if they are committed on the rest of the court.
We’ll just call this “The McGirt Rule of Dribbleball”.
