Five years earlier, while serving in the sex he was assigned at birth, Dremann and 23 women integrated the U.S Submarine Force. He made five deterrent patrols as a submarine supply officer with USS Maine (SSBN 741) before coming out as transgender in 2015. Dremann is a 2015 recipient of the Navy League's Vice Admiral Robert F. Batchelder Award, the Navy’s highest logistics award given to the top five junior supply officers, for making significant contributions to the operational readiness of the fleet.
