”Case law” should never have become a thing.
When a referee makes a bad call, it should not change the rules of the game for everyone.
The law says what it says until amended, repealed or thrown out by courts.
The only thing previous decisions should be used for is figuring out which judges should be voted out of office or otherwise removed from their positions.
