Hmmm...what happens when there is an “Emergency Proclamation” saying that people can’t go to church, buy or carry weapons or one that lets activated National Guard troops sleep in my house?

We’ve received several inquiries about enforcement of the Mayor’s Emergency Proclamation regarding the closure of bars, restaurants, and other businesses. This proclamation makes it a misdemeanor crime for these businesses to stay open. If you see a business that is in violation, please call 911. Our officers will respond and request their voluntary compliance. If the involved parties refuse to comply, they will be cited, but only as a last resort. Business owners as well as patrons may be cited for violating the Emergency Proclamation.

A criminal is a criminal. Age is irrelevant. I’ve arrested kids as young as 10 for doing worse. Don’t apologize and try to accommodate mediocrity. This is substandard behavior in our society - it needs to be called out as such. This young person, their parents and WE, as a society, must be held accountable to the same, common standards and expectations.

Before all of the negative comments get posted, yes, we realize this is a child. However, after ringing the doorbell, this kid and another very young juvenile threw a brick through a window, climbed inside and burgled this home near NW 10th/Council. They are indeed very young, but this is a felony crime. If you recognize the young man in the video, call Crime Stoppers at 405/235-7300 or leave a tip online at www.okccrimetips.com. You can remain anonymous and may earn a cash reward. 2020-0007338
