Let’s see...our technological lead was our only real advantage and that is rapidly narrowing.
For the last 15+ years, recruiting has been a pump and not a filter. As a consequence, some branches more than others are filled with a bunch if rock heads who have no training to do any given thing proficiently, we have toxic leadership issues and promotion “systems” that are neither a meritocracy nor even based on someone’s ability to do their actual job.
Let’s combine that with a lack of focus on lethality and distractions from proficiency at breaking things and killing people that isn’t backed by any desire to send in the covered wagons once the enemy has been annihilated.
What do you expect?
The BRICS are laughing at us.
While readiness measures for ground combat have increased, seapower has been on the decline.
