The “the states came before and created the Federal Government” argument in favor of “state sovereignty” is just as ridiculous as Native Americans or Palestinians yelling “we were here first”.
“First” doesn’t matter; NOW does.
If you hold such ridiculous beliefs and think that Federal Law doesn’t matter or that people in a given state get to pick and choose which laws they will and will not follow or that the USA is not “one nation...indivisible” and that a more perfect union is not a thing to work towards, I don’t think there are words to describe how much of a hypocrite you are if seeing people kneeling during the Star Spangled Banner hurts your feelers.
